How to Calculate JAMB Aggregate Score for UTME

Meanwhile, getting the aggregate or cumulative score requires getting the average grades from O’level, JAMB, and post-UTME results. It is important to note that your UTME score accounts for the 50% aggregate score, your post-UTME account for 30%, and the O’level determines the remaining 20% score.

For the O’level result
The aggregate is gotten by calculating the cumulative score of the five core subjects in your field of study. The O’level grading goes thus:

Let’s assume you are a science student and got the following grades in your O’level result: EnglishB3, MathematicsC4, ChemistryB2, BiologyA1, PhysicsC5. The corresponding points will be 4+3+5+6+2 = 20.
Now, the maximum point is 30 and it is prorated by 20, i.e., 20/30 = ⅔
Then, the total points gotten is 20 multiplied by ⅔ = 20*⅔ = 13.33
Take note of this last aggregate for the O’level result.
For UTME (JAMB) result
As we stated above, it accounts for 50% of the overall aggregate.
Let’s assume you got 270 in your UTME; it will be 270/400*50 or 270/8 = 33.75
For Post-UTME result
This accounts for 30% of the cumulative score.
For instance, let’s say you score 72 in your post-UTME; it will be 72*30/100 = 21.6.
Finally, the JAMB aggregate for candidates with this O’level, UTME, post-UTME results will be 13.33 + 33.75 + 21.6 = 68.68. The JAMB aggregate score for this candidate is 68.68
